Procedure for implant anchored overdenture

The first vist involves the placement/insertion of 2-4 dental implants per jaw, sometimes only 2 implants will do. The implants take nearly 3-4 months to be integrated within the bone.

Once the implants are completely osseointegrated within the bone, patient is recalled for the second visit which involves placement of locators to the implants & rings to the base of the denture.

The overdenture is ready to sit over the locator abutments.

Even if the jawbone is inadequate, with the help of advancements like bone grafting, it’s not a difficult task to prepare the jawbone for any implant treatment.
