What to expect with the treatment?
To treat any oral health issue prior to the procedure is our first & foremost concern. At the very first visit we’ll thoroughly examine your dental health & will begin with the impression making & x-rays like CBCT & IOPA, this will further help us to plan the treatment.
At the second visit: once the position & number of implants is confirmed, we’ll begin with anesthetizing via local anaesthesia. Once the area is numb, we’ll proceed with the surgical placement of dental implants. During the procedure you will not experience pain or discomfort, but as soon as the effect of anesthesia wears off, you might experience a bit discomfort that will be managed by the medications.
After the surgical procedure, we’ll take impressions so that a provisional prosthesis can be delivered to the patient till the implants completely osseointegrate into the jawbone (4-6 months of healing period).
During the healing period you will be adviced to go for soft diet for few weeks.
Once the implants are completely osseointegrated, we’ll make impressions for definitive prosthesis. After the fabrication of the prosthesis, it will be attached to the abutment which gets fixed on to the respective implant.
Periodic checkups are mandatory for the maintenance of your dental implants. Hence, you must visit your dentist every 6 months to ensure the health of your dental implants.
Is there any age limitation for the dental implants procedure?
The procedure must be carried out in completely developed jaws. However, the growth pattern varies in males & females. It usually takes 16-18 years in girls & 18-21 years in boys. In order to ascertain the skeletal development, hand-wrist radiographs are quite essential.
Are dental implants safe?
Dental implants in Delhi are made of commercially pure titanium & considered to be highly biocompatible i.e. not harmful or toxic to living tissue.
Can I go to work after the procedure completion?
Going to the work after the procedure completion depends upon your pain threshold & discomfort & this varies from person to person. Usually, patients are able to return to their normal routine after the procedure. Once the anesthesia wears off, you might experience a bit discomfort but this gets managed via use of medications.
